Abstract

This study analyzed healthcare professionals' perceptions of the Clinical Pharmacy Service (CPS) in a university hospital. The mixed-methods research, conducted between March and June 2024, involved 118 professionals from various fields, revealing that 76% consider clinical pharmacists "very important" for collaborative care, although 30% still struggle to distinguish CPS roles from those of the pharmaceutical supply center. Furthermore, 93% of participants reported easy access to CPS, enhancing integration in care delivery. About 76% request pharmaceutical interventions, indicating greater awareness of the pharmacist's role in medication reviews and dosage adjustments, while 24% do not use these services, suggesting gaps in integration. It is concluded that CPS is crucial for patient safety, requiring the overcoming of organizational barriers and fostering greater clarity of responsibilities to maximize its therapeutic benefits.
