Abstract

Childhood anxiety is an emotional condition characterized by fear and excessive concern, which can have significant repercussions in the school and social spheres. It has been noticed in the school environment more often, as this is a place where children are exposed to educational, social and emotional challenges. Faced with this reality, the role of the psychologist has been shown to be fundamental to identify and treat this condition. This scientific article aims to raise the main triggers of anxiety in children and point out how School and Educational Psychology can contribute to prevent or face the symptoms presented in the school environment, with their coping strategies. Based on this bibliographic review, we tried to demonstrate how multidisciplinary performance in the school environment can promote better quality of life and education for children negatively affected by anxiety. In view of this, the understanding and intervention of school and educational psychology are fundamental, in the perception of significant behavioral changes and in the recognition of changes during the student's psychosocial training. Considering that this and other professionals from the school institution spend most of their time in the school environment. In conclusion, in this way, that School and Educational Psychology can contribute to prevent and face childhood pathological anxiety, improving quality of life and school performance of children, as well as offering a better understanding to the technical team inside the school, through psychological interventions and skill development of skills to better deal with the demands of the school environment.
