Advantages of bulk fill resins: literature review

The Bulk Fill resins emerged in the national market in the year of 2010, with the intention of allowing the utilization of an increase of up to 5mm in thickness, being an advantageous material of restoration when compared to the conventional composite resins that permit a maximum increase of 2mm thickness. Commercially the Bulk Fill resins are available in two consistencies: paste, or fluid. However, this study’s objective is to demonstrate the technique of using this material as well as highlighting its clinical advantages. The research and data was performed by: ‘Pubmed’, ‘Scielo’, and ‘Google Scholar’. The inclusion criteria used in the research were: Review Articles, clinical studies and cases, written in Portuguese and English. There was placed a time limit of thirteen years (2004 – 2017). As exclusive criteria was written in other languages other than those mentioned above, articles outside the proposed time limit and paid articles. We conclude that the Bulk Fill composite resins can increase clinical productivity of dentist surgeons, however, should be used following the correct technique always respecting the depths limits of the cavities to be restored.
