Abstract

Objective: To report the case of a patient with a giant mesenteric lipoma whose general condition was preserved, except for intense abdominal pain and the episode of pain-induced hemanosis. Method: the information was obtained by means of a medical record review, interview with the patient, photographic record of the complementary examinations and findings during lipoma extraction surgery, and a review of the literature. Final considerations: the case reported and the publications discussed present a giant mesenteric lipoma, a rare manifestation. Because it is an unparalleled presentation of this pathology, the following case report becomes essential for the physicians' knowledge when faced with this same situation.
