Introduction: The purpose of the preanesthetic evaluation is to determine the best surgical procedure to be performed, primarily aimed at patient safety. Therefore, it is worth emphasizing the need to reduce morbidity and mortality and maternal-fetal complications during the anesthetic-surgical act, to alert to the problems and anesthetic care associated with pregnant women with scoliosis, treated or not, to be possible and performed anesthetic technique, in addition to the necessary hospital infrastructure for safe anesthesia and delivery. Objective: To evaluate the importance of pre-anesthetic evaluation in pregnant women submitted to the surgical treatment of scoliosis prior to gestation. Methodology: The literary research consisted of the middle of the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMed); electronic library Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO); Academic Google; Brazilian Journal of Anesthesiology and Academic Books. The criteria analyzed were referring to the thematic, addressing: the identification of the article (title, periodical, year, language); training and qualification of the lead author; the goals; ethical considerations; study design; instrument for data collection; pre-anesthetic evaluation and your importance; pregnant women and their peculiarities in surgical management; results and conclusions; reaching a total of 49 analyzed literature. Conclusion: Gestation is a dynamic process that results in several physiological changes in the organismo maternal, with scoliosis being one of them. Surgery for scoliosis in the pregnant woman is indicated when the degree of scoliosis exceeds 45° on the Cobb scale. For such a change, the eutocic delivery is contraindicated. Elective anesthesia for cesarean section is the spinal anesthesia. However, recognizing the risks inherent in anesthesia as well as elucidating and discussing with the patient in the choice of the best anesthetic block favors a better anesthesia-surgical result as well as an excellent result in the binomial maternal-fetal, especially in pregnant women with previous scoliosis treated or not..
