The Effectiveness Of Glycolic Acid Peeling In The TreatmentOf Melasma: Case Report

The aim of this Case Report was to describe the academic experience in the internship field at the FAMP Physical Therapy School Clinic with a patient who presented facial melasma, characterized by the presence of dark spots, being of idiopathic cause, but often associated with pregnancy, due to the stimulation of hormones in this phase and also exposure to UV sun rays, genetic predisposition and use of contraceptives. The physiotherapeutic evaluation form of Dermatofunctional was performed and the intervention approaches were traced, which were, in the first session, using Diamond Peeling for a first peeling of the skin. And in the second session starting the application of glycolic acid submitted to 6 sessions lasting 1 hour and a half, being 1 times a week, totaling 7 sessions of 1 and a half hours. The result achieved with the therapeutic treatment was the reduction and bleaching of melasma stains
