Abstract

Currently a major concern in the dental routine is to maintain or restore the biological and functional balance of the tooth structure, therefore there is a constant search for materials that can restore and maintain the healthy pulp tissue. We have the mechanical removal of carious tissue and indirect pulp capping as strong allies. The patient SLL, 39, attended the Emergency Clinic of Fame Faculty presenting unsatisfactory amalgam restoration element 16 with respect to lack of material in the occlusal, maladaptive margin with cracks, recurrent caries early and discomfort at the time of the type sanitization mechanical. At the time of removal of the restoration and decay it was noted that the cavity was too profound. We opted for the cement glass ionomer which is an excellent material suitable for indirect pulp capping in deep cavities when there is no risk of pulp exposure, which with fluoride release assists in dental remineralization and reduces postoperative sensitivity. This clinical report's main proposal to return the function to the element 16, aesthetics by choosing the restorative composite resin completely for posterior teeth for good oral hygiene of the patient, with the incremental technique, using resin dentin and glaze color A2 of Dentsply brand. He obtained very satisfactory result respecting the anatomical structure and the minimum intervention possible in the cusps, grooves and enamel bridges.
