Abstract

Leukemia is a type of cancer that develops in the bone marrow before spread to the blood and other tissues is the most common form of malignancy in children developed. Despite being the type of higher morbidity and mortality pediatric cancer if diagnosed and treated early, along with physical therapy for relief of symptoms and side effects. Contributing to a good response from the patient's body to the bone marrow stops producing neoplastic cells and re-produce the normal.Objectives: This review of research aims to verify the physical therapy intervention in pediatric leukemia patients. Demonstrate the damage caused by the condition and quality of life of these children. And the effects of physical therapy on symptoms caused by leukemia.  Materials and methods: Research literature review. Articles surveyed between 2005 and 2015. We reviewed 37 articles, 7 were discarded items that did not fit the requirements of the research; and among the 30 reviewed were used 6 for the literature review on the subject of pulmonary rehabilitation; with children between 4 and 17 years between the period 2010-2014. A check cells of physiotherapy performance in children with leukemia is necessary to have more evidence of study on the subject, aiming the benefits of the types of physical therapy treatments that these children can receive the deleterious way that leaves the child's body, even though early diagnosis that child's life is replaced by a different routine, thus changing the style and quality of life of the same.
